Minecraft Oval Generator: Ellipse Chart by Width and Height
Make a pixel oval or ellipse for a build: set the width and height in blocks, choose thin, thick or filled, and get row counts, runs, PNG and print.
Tap a block in the chart to mark it as placed. Downloads and prints show the plain chart without marks.
- Total blocks
- 56
- Size
- 25 × 15
- Style
- Thin
Width 25 is odd, so the center line runs through the middle column (column 13). Height 15 is odd, so the center line runs through the middle row (row 8). The middle of this chart is a single center block.

How the oval is drawn
An oval here is an ellipse that fits exactly inside a box of the width and height you enter. A block is part of the oval when its center is inside that ellipse, the same block-center rule as the circle page. Because the two axes differ, the flat ends of an oval have long runs of blocks and the tall sides have long columns.
- Width and height can each be 1 to 200 blocks.
- Swap the two numbers to turn the oval on its side.
- A box with equal sides gives a circle.
Odd and even sides
Each side is odd or even on its own. An odd width has one center column and an even width has two. The note under the chart spells out the middle for your sizes, so you can place a center marker before you build outward.
Common questions
What is the difference between an oval and an ellipse generator?
Nothing in practice. Both draw an ellipse: a shape with a long axis and a short axis. This page uses the width as one axis and the height as the other.
Why is my oval not smooth?
Blocks are square, so a curve is always a staircase. Very flat ovals have long straight runs with a one-block step; a larger size or a thick style hides the steps better.
Can I make a tilted oval?
No. These charts are aligned to the block grid, so ovals run along the width or the height. Rotating a chart by hand will not give the same block pattern.
